Medical Information Reports
Medical Information Bureau (MIB)
The MIB report, used for insurance underwriting decisions, includes medical and avocation codes (not medical histories, records, or specific medical details), information about MIB member companies that have reported and requested MIB information about the consumer, and also the consumer's individual insurance application activity. Information is maintained in the file for seven years.
Note: If you have not applied for individually underwritten life, health, or disability insurance during the preceding seven year period, MIB may not have a report on you. If you have not applied, and a report is available, it may be an indication of potential fraud.
